Yavapai County Justice Center Update for 09/30/2020 – Controlled Burn

Yavapai County Public Information Officer David McAtee talks with the Yavapai County Facilities Director Kenny VanKeuren and Assistant Director Brandon Shoults about what has been going on at the site of the new Justice Center being built in Prescott. This includes the controlled burn, that will be going on for the next few weeks, weather permitting.

How the Yavapai Justice Center Will Impact Local Law Enforcement and Behavioral Health

Yavapai County Public Information Officer David McAtee sat down with Prescott Valley Police Department Commander James Edelstein to talk about how the Justice Center currently being built in Prescott will affect officers and the time it takes to transport someone to a holding facility. Commander Edelstein also talked about the crisis prevention center and how having a behavioral health center right on the property with the new Justice Center will help those who need care.

Yavapai County Justice Center Site Passes Environmental Inspections

Phase I Environmental Assessment
Before breaking ground, the County hired Speedie and Associates (Speedie) to perform a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) on the site of the Yavapai County Criminal Justice Center located at 1200 Prescott Lakes Parkway in Prescott, Arizona.  The assessment was conducted in conformance with standards distributed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)

Sheriff Scott Mascher Discusses Public Safety and Crime Prevention

Sheriff Scott Mascher discusses his works with local municipalities to manage the long term plan for public safety and crime prevention. As Yavapai County has continued grow we maintain our continued trend of crime rates lower than the national average. The Sheriffs Office, working with several other departments, has developed and implemented several programs to reduce the jail population and focus on crime prevention. With a plan developed over 10 years ago, land was purchased for the construction of a Justice Center. Even with the unique challenges that face law enforcement today, the Sheriff's Office is here not to just enforce the law but to protect your individual freedoms and liberties.
